Albert Mack Daw, Sr., was born on February 5, 1943 and passed away on February 25, 2026 in Mobile, AL. Most people in Mobile called him "Mack", but he preferred to be called "Al", especially while in the service. He just had his 84rd birthday. After serving in the Coast Guard, he was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in NH. Mack held several position such as Assistant Engineer as well as in the Design Department, rotating machinery and steam, turbine technical expert. Mack did outstanding work for the fleet. Mack worked from 1966-1994, retiring at the young age of 51.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Albert Mack "AJ" Daw, parents, Minnie Ruth (Williams) Daw and Lee Hagood Daw, sister, Brenda Pridgen. Mack was married twice.
He is survived by his wife, Pricilla Perkins Day, daughter, Kimberly (Bill) Bemis, of NH, 7 grandchildren, 4 by AJ and 3 by Kimberly, 4 great grandchildren, with one on the way, 3 brothers, Maurice (Rosalyn) Daw, Dennis Daw, and Larry (Marsha) Daw,
He attended Semmes High School and acquired many licenses such as Master Electrician and also was a Pilot. Mack and Priscilla met at work in 1991 and married in 1994 in NH. Mack lived in Mobile most of his life. He and Priscilla made several trips to Maine and Priscilla's parents would visit Mobile in the summer months. Mack will be greatly missed. May his memory be remembered for a long time by all who loved and knew him. Priscilla was so very proud of him through his life.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 12 noon with visitation from 11 am until service time.
