Amanda Leigh (Bennett) Heaton, age 51, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 30, 1973, in Mobile, Alabama, to Weldon and Jane Bennett. Amanda was a lifelong resident of Saraland. She graduated from Satsuma High School in 1991. She married Delynn Heaton on August 5, 1994. She worked as the cafeteria manager at Eichold-Mertz Magnet School, where she was extremely loved by her principal, fellow staff members, and students. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching hours upon hours of softball, and most importantly, she adored her grandson, Tobias. She is survived by her husband, Delynn Heaton; children, Daniel (Gradie) Heaton and Taylor Heaton; grandson, Tobias Heaton. Her parents, Weldon and Jane Bennett; one brother, Ken (Trece) Bennett; one sister, Julie (Bryan) Bates; and many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Destination Church, 1601 Celeste Road, Saraland, AL. We will receive family from 5:30 to 6:00, with visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00. We invite you to join us as we reminisce and support one another during this time.
