Christina Marie Malpas, affectionately known as Chrissy, passed away peacefully after a long illness on October 7, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. Born on January 22, 1965, in Picayune, Mississippi, Chrissy lived a life marked by compassion, faith, and a deep love for those around her.
Chrissy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked in both childcare and elderly care, offering comfort and support to individuals at the most vulnerable stages of life.
A devout Christian, Chrissy believed deeply in the word of God and shared her faith openly.
Chrissy especially enjoyed spending time near the water—whether it was a day at the beach or simply being close to any body of water brought her peace and joy. She also loved socializing and connecting with others. Her pets brought her much joy over the years. She often spoke fondly of Rocco, Tip, Bentley, Lucky, and BB cat.
She is lovingly remembered by her son John Malpas and daughter-in-law Beth Malpas; cousins Ruth Marie Jarrell, Jennifer Hagstrom, Bella, and Banx Hagstrom; brother Kennith Granillo; sister-n-law Sandra Millis, and family friend Deidra Dunn. Chrissy was preceded in death by her grandmother Ruby Granillo, mother Georgia Roach, brother James Millis, niece Meghan Millis, and cousin Belinda Slaydon.
A family memorial gathering celebrating Chrissy’s life will be held at a later date.
May Christina Marie Malpas’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
