Clifford Allred Obituary

Clifford Eugene Allred, affectionately known to family and friends as “Cliff,” passed away on March 4, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 60.

Cliff was a faithful servant of God whose life was rooted in faith, learning, and service to others. At just 14 years old, he answered the call to preach the Gospel—a calling that remained central to his life and character. From that young age forward, Cliff devoted himself to sharing God’s Word, guiding others in faith, and living a life that reflected the love and grace he preached.

In addition to his ministry, Cliff was also a very talented singer whose voice often lifted hearts in worship and praise. Whether preaching from the pulpit or singing songs of faith, he used the gifts God gave him to inspire, encourage, and bring others closer to the Lord.

Cliff pursued his education with dedication and determination. He attended Pinson Valley High School before continuing his studies at Troy University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and the University of South Alabama, where he obtained his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. His passion for knowledge and learning became one of the defining parts of his life.

Over the years, Cliff faithfully pastored several churches, sharing the Gospel and shepherding congregations with compassion and conviction. While ministry was always close to his heart, his true calling revealed itself in the classroom. Cliff spent many years as a mathematics teacher, where he found immense joy in helping students discover their abilities and believe in themselves.

Most recently, he served at the Continuous Learning Center in the Mobile County School System. Cliff was deeply loved by his students everywhere he taught. To them, he was far more than a math teacher—he was a mentor, encourager, and a steady voice of wisdom. Along with equations and formulas, he shared life lessons, patience, kindness, and the belief that every student had value and potential.

Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Shirley Allred; his sister, Donna Valentine; and his nephew, Alex Cowan Hobson.

He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory: his sister, Deborah Hobson (Shane); his nieces, Kimberly Brower (Austin), Shayna Warren (Zachary), and Kiana Valentine; and his great-nephew and nieces, Cody Kilgore, Alaynna Kilgore, and Victoria Brower. He also leaves behind Debbie McCormick Allred, along with a host of friends and countless current and former students whose lives he touched.

Cliff’s life touched countless students, church members, friends, and family. His legacy is one of faith, service, knowledge, and compassion. The seeds he planted through teaching, preaching, and simply caring for others will continue to grow for generations.

The family is planning two memorial services to honor Cliff’s life soon—one in Mobile for the many students and colleagues whose lives he impacted, and another in Blount County to be held closer to family.

Though Cliff’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, his family finds peace in knowing that he has finished his earthly race and now rests in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served all his life.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Matthew 25:23

Cliff lived his life teaching, guiding, and pointing others toward truth. Now, having kept the faith and finished the course set before him, he has heard the words every servant of God longs to hear. Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice in the promise of Christ—that those who believe will live again. One day, beyond the sorrow of this world, we will see him again, where there is no pain, no tears, and no parting—only the everlasting peace and presence of God.
