Dalton Roy Allen, Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the age of 63 due to complications from brain cancer. He was in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by his family when his time came.
Dalton was born in Greenville, NC on May 27, 1962. After graduating high school, he eventually joined the U.S. Air Force with an MOS specializing in aircraft avionics. Upon completion of Basic Training in Biloxi, Mississippi, Dalton was stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he met his future wife, Reiko Allen. They married on July 22, 1983 and spent 42 years together.
Upon completion of his initial contract with the Air Force, Dalton moved back to the U.S. and spent 15 years with Lockheed Martin. While there, he served in numerous technical and management positions including electronics technician, planner, program manager, marketing manager, and business development manager.
In 2001, Dalton accepted a position with Gulfstream Aerospace, eventually reaching the position of Director of Strategic Business Pursuits. While with Gulfstream, Dalton earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. The primary emphasis of his position was to manage resources and establish the interpersonal relationships required to secure new worldwide government programs for the company. He served 19 years with Gulfstream Aerospace, retiring in 2020.
Apart from his numerous career achievements, Dalton will always be remembered for his fierce determination, ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances, and the love he showed to his family and close friends. Though we are grateful he no longer has to suffer, Dalton’s presence will be greatly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on along with the influence and guidance he provided to so many throughout his life.
With respect to Dalton’s innate ability to provide logical and timely advice, remember to hug your loved ones a little tighter from time to time and to express the love you have for one another, even when the times are tough. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, and life has a wonderful way of throwing curve balls at you in the form of Murphy’s Law. The world is a little less bright without Dalton in it, but we can all find solace knowing we’ve had the opportunity to know the man that he was and that he can finally rest in peace.
Dalton is survived by his wife, Reiko; his daughter, Stephanie and her husband, Jeremy; his son, Christopher; and 5 grandchildren, Jakob, Khloe, Luke, Emma, and James.
