Daniel Eugene Fuqua (Danny), a resident of Semmes, Alabama, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2021, at home due to natural causes. He was 64 years old. Danny was born in West Palm Beach, Florida on December 22, 1956. Danny’s most noticeable features were his height and strength. He used to say he was 6 feet tall and bullet proof. You would think that his presence would be intimidating, but he was the most kind, gentle, helpful, loved, and easy-going person you could know. He loved to go fishing at Big Creek Lake and Alabama Point. If he had his way, he would have lived right off the water so he could fish every day. Danny was not just a fisherman, he was a carpenter, a roofer, loved to draw and paint, shoot pool, and swim at the Escatawpa River and Dog River, which are some of his old stomping grounds. As a child, he traveled a lot because his father was in the military. He got to experience living in West Palm Beach, Florida, Fairbanks, and Anchorage, Alaska, Missouri, Delaware, and then finally settling down in Mobile right before Camille. Danny was never one for photos or being the first one to strike up a conversation, but he did truly miss and love all his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leon Fuqua and Catherine Theresa Fuqua. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Felicia Fuqua; his sister, Paulette Flowers; his brothers, Kenieth Fuqua and James Fuqua; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 4pm until the 6pm memorial service Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory.
