David Theron Padgett, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on November 23, 2021, at the age of 61.
David had a love of music that began at McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, and he then went on to study music at the University of South Alabama. As a professional drummer, he performed with bands in Nashville, Tennessee, and also various venues across southeast Alabama. His most recent “gig” was with Johnny Barbato, a longtime friend and musical colleague, performing with “Johnny Barbato and The Lucky Doggs.”
David was a kind, gentle man, and an especially devoted son, compassionately caring for his mother in her later years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce William Padgett, Sr. and Joanne Sherrell Padgett. Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Michelle Devery; his siblings, Lisa Zoghby (Michael), Suzanne Latham (Crosby), Bill Padgett (Christi), John Padgett, and Julie Salmons (Robert); and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory, 690 Zeigler Circle West, Mobile, AL 36608, with the rosary beginning around 6:30 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, AL 36693, followed by burial services at Pine Crest Cemetery on Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL.
Based on David’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ASPCA.
The family would like to thank the many nurses who took care of David during his hospitalizations. In addition, a special thank you to David’s dear friend, Bill Gardner, who visited him frequently.
