Grace Erkhart Johnston February 12, 1952 - October 31, 2024
Grace was born in Lucedale, Mississippi to Al Erkhart and Virginia Shepherd Erkhart. She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Darryl James Johnston; her daughter Tiffany Grayce Johnston Griffin (Victor), her son Nicholas Shane Johnston (David), her stepdaughter, Alysia Antoinette Johnston (Doug); five granddaughters, Elizabeth Inez Parker, Victoria Grayce Parker, Mary Alexandria Parker, Olivia Marie Parker, and Christina Rose Parker; ten great grandchildren, Lilliana Rose Kaiser, Israel-Grace Miriam Johnson, Emma Jane Harris, Reyna Lynn Harris, Angel Grayce Smitherman, Christopher Thomas Higginbotham, Alexandria Lynn Higginbotham, Kendal Edwards (KJ) Martin, Oliver Gavin Higginbotham, and Azriel Manix Mount.
Grace attended elementary school in Lucedale, Mississippi and graduated from Shaw High School in Mobile, Alabama in 1970. She later studied theology at Spring Hill College. Grace was passionate about art and throughout her life she enjoyed drawing and painting. Grace owned and operated The Pink Pin Cushion and The Alteration Shop for 25 years in Mobile, AL. Grace was a parishioner, Eucharistic minister, CCD teacher and cook for the priests at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Grace Erkhart Johnston had a beautiful heart and soul. She was a woman with virtues. She was a woman who was truly loved and will be missed by many. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at St. Dominic Parish at 10:30 am with visitation prior at 9:00am in the Murphy Center.
