Hilda H McNair

Hilda H. McNair, 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 27, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle McNair; parents, Lillian and Noel Hickman; and two brothers, Paul and Roy Hickman.

Hilda is survived by a sister, Leona (Charlie) Holloman; daughter, Elaine (Rob) Etheredge; son, Noel (Keri) Ferguson; granddaughters, Brenna (Sonny) Nailer and Brandy (Josh) Carpar; two great-grandchildren, Dennis Wright and Jackson Carper; bonus children, Dianne Browne and Ricky McNair; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. McNair worked most of her 78 years, retiring from the Mobile Press Register.  From there she worked for the Greater Gulf State Fair.  Retired again, she did various temporary jobs, including the Mobile Housing Board.  She did not like to stay home and really liked being employed.

In her down time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, spending time with her family, and Mardi Gras.

Through her many years of working, she made many friends, in fact, on vacation out of the state, she always came across people she knew.

Hilda had a very caring and motherly nature, wonderful smile, and welcoming personality.  A very classy and sassy lady. She will be missed.

Still loved, still missed and very dear.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory, at 3:00pm. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.
