Jerry John Woodard, born October 15, 1947 in Cassville, Missouri, Barry county. Jerry fought Parkinson’s for 17 years and passed at his home in Leakesville, Mississippi at the age of 73, on Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was a native of southwest Missouri and a child of God. Jerry was united in marriage to Sherry Irene McNelly on September 3rd, 1980 in Miami, Oklahoma. He served his country in the Army during Vietnam War. Jerry also had a lifetime career driving a semi-truck and retired from ABF freight systems in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and Arkansas Razorback football. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Keet Leston and Pansy Birdie; two brothers, Glenn Hyfle and Kay George; and an infant sister, Jessie June. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Sherry Woodard; his three sons, John (Christi Kerr) Woodard, Timothy (Christi Coker) Nichols, and Jared (Carissa Fletcher) Woodard; his grandchildren, Haley Woodard, Tyler Woodard, Charity Nichols, Timothy Nichols, William Nichols, Carrlei Nichols, Danon Woodard, and Keet Woodard; many cousins; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. Jerry will rest at Roller Cemetery in Powell, Missouri in McDonald County. Services will be posted at a later date. Online condolences may be given at www.mobilefhc.com.
