Joan E. Chmiel (Henderson)

Joan E. Chmiel (Henderson) was born on September 22, 1946 in Dyersburg, TN to her mother, Inez Henderson, and her father, Rufus Henderson. Joan is a successful self-made woman and worked her way to the top of Bellsouth Telephone Company. She retired at the age of 49.

Joan had a beautiful daughter, Melanie H. Weisser, by her first husband, Mike Henson, who was her pride and joy. Later, found the love of her life, Gregory G. Chmiel, and married on April 18, 1987. They traveled the world together, then settling down in Mobile, AL with their daughter, Melanie, and their grandchildren, Carly and Connor Weisser.

Joan Chmiel died May 7, 2022 peacefully in her sleep. She will be missed by her dearest friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Gregory Chmiel; her daughter, Melanie Weisser; and her grandchildren, Carly and Connor Weisser.
