John David Hadley, Jr., a proud resident of Loxley, Alabama, passed away peacefully at his home on September 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and quiet wisdom. Born on September 26, 1946, John served his country with honor as a United States Army Veteran and a courageous participant in the Vietnam War.
Beyond his service to his country, J.D. was a man of many gifts. He had a brilliant mind for carpentry, a green thumb in the garden, and a soulful touch with the guitar and harmonica. These talents were more than skills- they were expressions of the deep spirit and creative heart that lived within him, gifts he generously shared with those closet to him.
Throughout his life, John made lasting and precious memories with Mary and their beloved daughters. He is survived by their three beautiful daughters: Cecelia Edwards, Stephanie Williams-Velasquez, and LouKisha Miller; six grandchildren: Heather, Chandler, Kameron, Tyeler, Halle, and Trinity; and five great grandchildren: Connor, Dalton, Trevor, Amelia, and Marlee.
To all of them, he was a steady presence, a teacher by example, and a man who found joy in the simple things- working with his hands, creating beauty, and sharing quiet moments with those he loved.
As family and friends gather to honor his memory, services will be held at Mobile Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, September 19, 2025 with visitation from 9 am until service time of 10 am. Interment will be in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, AL at 1 pm.
In reflecting on a life so fully lived, John's Legacy is clear. His life was one of service, skill, and love. He will be remembered always in the laughter of his children, the melodies of a harmonica, and the warmth of a well-built home.
