John Samuel Marshall, III of Mobile, AL passed away on March 22, 2026, after a brief illness. Born on December 18,1947, he was the son of John Samuel Marshall Jr. and Marion Bancroft Marshall.

John found purpose in life through serving others. He was a dedicated licensed counselor who founded Marshall Counseling Associates serving the community of Mobile. He was a past president of the Jaycees. One of the tastiest ways he served others was by baking the well-loved “Marshall’s Biscuits” at the Electric Maid Bakery. John served his country as a member of the 7th Cavalry in Korea during the Vietnam War.

He graduated from Murphy High School. John completed his undergraduate education at Mobile University.  He obtained a master’s degree in counseling at the University of South Alabama.

John was a devoted lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. His devotion to his faith was demonstrated by serving in many capacities, for example, vestry member.

He was known for his love of family and friends. He was especially fond of Mardi Gras, Alabama football, and sailing. His fondness for Mardi Gras was exemplified when he was emblem for his mystic organization.
