John Weichman, a resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 26, 1943.
John graduated from Iowa State as a chemical engineer, working for 10 years in that field until the food business called his name. In the early 1980's he opened All Seasons Restaurant and won many awards and recognition in the food service industry. Some of his awards and accomplishments include FINE DINING HALL of FAME and AMBASSADOR 25 AWARD. He was also featured in FORD TIMES Magazine twice as a "Famous American Eating Place". There were numerous write-ups and features in major magazines about his restaurant.
He was a member of the National Restaurant Association, board of directors.
John was involved in many community activities in Mobile such as Mobile Jaycees, Mobile United, Mobile Area Chamber Society, Optimist Club, to name a few. He also sat on the boards of the National Restaurant Association and the American Cancer Society.
In his later years he worked for the Mobile Police Department part time organizing the "Coffee with a Cop" and the Optimist Club's recognition of the officer of the month, also he was a community resource officer for the department.
He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Weichman, a son, James, a daughter Christina.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maria, a daughter Angela, a son Michael and his doggie companion Eddie, sisters, Marilou Krumm, Diane Bishop, and nephews and nieces. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10:00am from Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception.
