Joseph "Joe Possum" Weaver, age 52, a native and longtime resident of Mt Vernon, AL passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024.
He was an avid Miami Dolphins fan and loved children and is a member of the Mowa Band of Choctaw Indians. Joe gave all he had right up to the end. He gave his life so others could live. His last parting give was to be able to donate his organs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hayward Weaver, materal grandparents, Villard & Ida Byrd, paternal grandparents, Kelly & Denzel Weaver, uncles, Hillard Byrd, John L. Byrd, Norman Weaver, Travis Byrd, and Ray Byrd, aunts, Jettie Weaver, Judy Sullivan, and Eunice Weaver.
He is survived by his 5 children, Meagan Weaver, Jessica Weaver, Ethan Weaver, Ashley Weaver, Katlyn Tuggle, mother, Ola Byrd Weaver, sister, Ella Comans, brother, Benjamin Weaver, aunts, Ramona (Leo) Byrd, Glenda (Clyde) Byrd, great aunt, Shirley Byrd, nephew, Michael S Johnston, neices, Kameron Comans Douglas, Jennifer Johnston, Kevelyn Comans, Makayla Weaver, Kyra Weaver, Shyla Huckabee, bestfriends, Robert "Rowdy" Weaver, David Clark, special friend Karen Lofton, other relatives and many friends.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
