Joyce Maxine Thompson

Joyce Maxine Thompson, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022. She was 88 years old. Joyce enjoyed sitting around with family and friends sharing stories and drinking coffee. She also loved to read to her grandchildren when they were little and playing board games with them. In the evening you would find her watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, the Hallmark Channel, or the news. Joyce loved to look over the newspaper and complete all the puzzles inside. When Joyce was alone, she would spend her time making beautiful quilts or cleaning her home in which she took pride in.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Dennis Maxwell and Mary (Beck) Maxwell; her brothers, Donald and Cleo Maxwell; her sisters, Lois Carlson and Zola Pantry; and her husband, Melvin Thompson Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Richard (Wendie) Ludwig; her daughter, Anniea Latsch; her granddaughter, Krystal (Gary) Hiatt; her grandsons, John (Alicia) McClain, Scott Latsch, and Melvin Thompson Ill; her great grandsons, Austin Simmons, Christian Hiatt, Tyler (Coleby) Hiatt, Parker Hiatt, Liam Latsch, and Gavin Latsch; great granddaughters, Kadence Hiatt, Hannah Hiatt and Makenzie McClain; and many other relatives and friends.
