Kay Weiss Obituary

Kay Stanage Weiss, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63 years old. Born and raised in Mobile, she resided in Orange Beach for the past ten years. She worked in banking throughout her life, holding many positions including Branch Manager, Group Manager, Mortgage Originator and Private Banker. Kay had a passion for volunteering and serving, working with charitable organizations such as American Cancer Society and Art Patrons League, and also served as President of Financial Women International. Her love of children led her to work nursery for Orange Beach United Methodist Church. Kay enjoyed life and she lived it well. Her life revolved around visiting her boys in Maui or meeting them in their destination of choice, wherever that may be. She loved to travel. Beach and ski vacations with family and The Grand Hotel with her sister Joan were some of her favorites. Kay loved music and dancing and limo rides. She loved people and always saw the best in them. She celebrated everyone and cared for everyone. Kay was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, Kappa Delta sister, USS Alabama Crewmate, dedicated banker, wife, mother, great aunt and now our beautiful Angel in heaven.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Captain Robert Stanage; brother, Guy Bigger; nephew, Joey Phillips; and her ex-husband and friend, Greg Weiss.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Gregory Weiss and Patrick Weiss; sister, Joan Phillips; niece, Angela Daugherty (Jimbo); great nephews, Gabriel Daugherty and Declan Daugherty; and other family and cherished friends.
