Leslie Allen Bentley

Captain Leslie Allen Bentley, age 63, known as Pejoe to his family and friends was born on February 7, 1960, in Bayou La Batre, AL and died on Monday, July 24, 2023 in Mobile, AL. 

Pejoe was preceded in death by his parents, Bervin and Edna Mae Bentley, sisters, Becky Shackleford and Sue Strachan, brother, Aaron Bentley, nephew, Shannon Monteith, and great-nephew Cullen Strachan. 

Pejoe is survived by his sister, Renee Schley, brothers, Jerry Bentley, David (Faye) Bentley, Richard (Angie) Bentley, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Pejoe was one of a kind. To know Pejoe was to remember Pejoe for his sense of humor and his love for others. 

Funeral services will be held from Charles Haynes Lodge, #627, at 11 am on Thursday, July 27, 2023, conducted by Pastor Matthew Bentley. Visitation will be from 10 am until service time. Interment will be in Oddfellow Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Bentley, Scott Bentley, Jason Strachan, Christopher Schley, Roger Bentley, and Richie Ladnier. Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Bentley, Gary Nelson, and Mark Seaman.
