Linda Harris Lindy, While holding hands with the love of her life, Larry Vernon Lindy, Sr., and surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren, Linda Sue Harris Lindy went to glory on November 14, 2024. She was welcomed into heaven by a host of saints who went before her, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith.
Linda’s legacy lives on in her three children: Larry Vernon Lindy, Jr. “Chip” and Tracie; Lisa Lindy Lawrence and her husband, Wes; and Lacie Lindy Phillips and her husband, Kyle and by choice Lisa Dotson. The greatest joy of her life was her grandchildren, both by blood and by choice. In true grandmotherly fashion, Linda left these parting words: “All is well. Heaven is beautiful. I can look down and watch you laugh, love, and excel. I will always be there for you, one way or another.”
To her beloved grandchildren—Beau (Kayla), Mallory, , Bryant (Breanna), Destiny, Luke, Hudson (Aleah), Lauren Lindy, Courtney (Joel), Carley (Preston), Gabe (Kelsey), Catie, Mabry, Weslin, Tucker, and Sydney —and to her great-grandchildren— Brady, Zayden, Levi, Zoey, Haven, Marcie, Isaac Ray, and Charles Anderson, —she shared a special message: “Never doubt that you brought much joy to my life.”
Also her niece, Sandra Cooper Smith, who was not just family but her best friend.
Linda’s final wish was to go camping one last time with her family. As we gather in the old camper, collect firewood, and search for tiny pinecones, we will honor her memory by sprinkling her ashes in the places she loved most.
A special thanks goes to the neighbors who were not blood relatives but were very much family. The love and support of Tammy and Lorin, Nancy and Gary, Gloria and Julie, and Anyssa and Steven meant the world to Linda and her family. Their presence was a true testament to the community she cherished.
A memorial is planned for December 8th for family.
