Obituary
Melanie Diane Dyess Adams, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL passed away at a local hospital on Friday, August 11, 2023. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Pauline Dyess and James Bethea (Mr. James), her companion. Melanie leaves behind her son, James Michael (Hannah) Adams, and a daughter, Kayla Adams. Melanie has two brothers, Gary (Evon) Dyess, and Edwin Dyess. Along with three sisters, Cherri (Lee) Brooks, Paula (Carl) Newsome, and Pam King. There were three grandchildren, Trevor King, Piper Adams, and Hunter Adams. There are many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Melanie always enjoyed her life to the fullest. She loved being outside and working in her garden and was well known for her Pepper Jelly. Melanie loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Melanie was an avid Alabama Football fan who will miss her Mardi Gras. She loved the beaches along our coast in Alabama. Melanie will also be missed by her beloved pets, Lil Bit, Maggie and Bama. Visitation will be Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10 to 12 noon at Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory.
