Melisa Burns Smith, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was 64 years old.
Melisa enjoyed going on walks with her husband at the Fairhope pier and beach, and spending time with her two dogs, Chiquito and Donovan. She was happiest when taking her grandchildren to the park and loved to be able to watch them grow and make memories with them.
Melisa is preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Lingo and her father, Bertram Burns, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 11 years, Alan Boesel; her children, Jason (Jenny) Smith, Kathleen (Gama) Hernandez, and Ashley Smith; her seven grandchildren, Rebecca Smith, Nicholas Smith, Alyssa Smith, Noah Buckley, Aubrey Hernandez, Samuel Buckley, and Joshua Hernandez; her sister, Richelle Gordon; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Fairhope Seventh Adventist Church. Guests are asked to wear bright colors in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Baldwin Humane Society at baldwinhumane.org.
