Paul went to celebrate with our Lord and Savior with his wife by his side on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. Paul was born on April 6th, 1954, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Irma “Toby” Wilson and Willard Alvin Wilson. Paul leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Veronica “Vee” Hart Wilson, children, Derek Paul Wilson and Leila Henson, step children, Kayla and Aaron Besson, 7 grandchildren, Irma Jean, Sofia, Paisley, Maisie, Steven Paul, Bentley, and Kenleigh all of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his brother, Johnny Wilson, nephew, John Wilson, and 3 step daughters, Tammy Carter, Christy Banks, and Michelle Cook whom he continued to love through the years. With other relatives and many friends who also held a special place in his heart.
Paul was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and most importantly a child of God. He lived a life dedicated to helping others through 9+ years as a Firefighter in Prichard, AL and 15+ years assisting his dad manage Wilson Trucking. That time spent with his father is what Paul felt made him a rich man. He was the type of person that many of us can only hope to become. Paul and Vee loved spending time together enjoying life through car shows, boating, concerts, camping and vacationing; most of the time with grandkids in tow. We rejoice knowing that he is finally home, yet; we mourn because our hearts long for the light he brought to the world.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 12 noon until 2 pm at Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment and Graveside services to be held in Valhalla Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be, Aaron Besson, Preston Nichols, Bo Lightbourne, Joey Pierce, John Wilson, Joe Wilson.
