Robert Norman Scott, Jr. Obituary
Robert Scott Obituary,
Robert Norman Scott Jr., affectionately known as Norman, was born on September 23, 1959, in Dothan, Alabama. As a young child, he moved with his family to Auburn while his father finished school. In August 1961, the family made Mobile their permanent home. Norman remained there for the rest of his life.
Norman was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church and later became a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He valued the traditions, friendships, and sense of community that were meaningful parts of his life in Mobile. Norman began his career in the travel industry, an experience that took him to many corners of the world and led to lifelong friendships. He later became a well-known and accomplished realtor. His creative eye and keen foresight allowed him to envision possibilities others might not see, qualities that served him well throughout his career. He was generous with his time and talents, quick to lend a hand, and always willing to help someone in need. He also loved to laugh, enjoyed a good joke, and never took himself too seriously. Above all, Norman's greatest joy in life was his daughters. Nothing meant more to him than Liza and Mary Brandon and being their father was one of his greatest privileges. He was immensely proud of the women they became and of the lives and families they built. That love continued through his grandchildren who knew him as "Nornie." He was a joyful and devoted grandfather who treasured every minute with them. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable happiness, and the bond they shared with their Nornie was special.
Norman is survived by his daughters, Liza Mounger (Wyatt) and their children, Wyatt Jr. and Laura Elizabeth; and Mary Brandon Huettemann (Joey) and their daughter, Ann Davis Huettemann. He is also survived by his mother, Nancy Lou March Scott; his brother, Drew Scott (Isabel); his sister, Edith Scott; his nieces and nephews, Nancy Scott (Michael Rizzo), Richard Scott (Natalie), Andrew Scott (Caroline), Tess Davis Barry; many grand nieces and nephews; his aunt, Sandra Helsel; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Scott Sr.; his brother, Alan; his niece, Sula Davis Barry; and other beloved family members.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Mobile.
