Sammie (Sam) Louis Love,
On October 8, 2024, Sammie (Sam) Louis Love, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, was called home at the age of 82. He was born on January 6, 1942, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Ludie B. Love and Simon Love.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Myrtle Love; three brothers; and four sisters. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family and community.
Sam was the proprietor of C and S Seafood, an employee of Borden Dairy, and a well-known entrepreneur in the Mobile and Prichard, Alabama areas. He built a reputation as a hardworking, honest businessman and was cherished by those who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted and heartbroken wife of 50 years, Rossie Laffiette Love; his children, Tony (Angela) Traywick and Andre (Angela) Love, both of Mobile, Alabama; two stepdaughters, Erica Rudolph of Houston, Texas, and Kimberly Rudolph of Mobile, Alabama. He will also be lovingly remembered by his host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, including his devoted grandson Shawn (Korrie) Fore of Nashville, Tennessee.
Sam is survived by two brothers: Donald (Donna) Love of Atlanta, Georgia, and Dennis Love of Bogalusa, Louisiana. He also leaves behind four sisters: Muriel Morgan and Yolanda McNeil of Mobile, Alabama; Glenda Little of Columbus, Mississippi; and Melody Love of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He is also mourned by three sisters-in-law: Edna L. Moffett of Atlanta, Georgia; Ella M. Laffiette and Stella M. Laffiette, both of Orange, New Jersey; and three brothers-in-law: Eddie Howard of Mobile, Alabama; Larry Laffiette of Creola, Alabama; and Reverend Joseph (Gertrude) Laffiette Sr. of Satsuma, Alabama. Additionally, he is survived by Reverend Theodore Newman of Bogalusa, Louisiana, and a host of devoted relatives, friends, and community members who will miss him deeply.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Sammie’s memory, where family and friends will gather to share their love and memories of him. His strength, kindness, and humor will never be forgotten.
