Sara Allen McCormack was born in Uriah, Alabama to Busey and Grace Ray Allen. She spent most of her life in Mobile where she passed peacefully in the home her daddy built.
The family would like to thank Sara’s much loved granddaughter, Heather Smith, great grandson, Leon Matthew “Buck” Smith, and Gentiva Hospice for taking such excellent care of Sara. Heather made it possible for her to stay where she was happy.
Sara was retired from many years of bookkeeping and she loved being outdoors, bluegrass music and animals. A member of Hill Spring Baptist Church, she so enjoyed Sundays with the congregation.
One of Sara’s favorite things was her weekly phone calls with her best friend/sister, Kat! I’m sure they had stories to tell.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, her son Mike McCormack, daughter, Sara “Marji” Moberg, grandson Jeff McCormack, and her yard working buddy, her brother, Gordon “ George” Allen.
She is survived by daughters Meta McCormack and Melonie McCormack, grandchildren, Mack (Amber) Lewis, Jessica Dueitt, Christopher (Brandi) Dueitt, Ashleigh Smith, Heather Smith, and Levi (Brandi) Fallon. Fourteen great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren, much loved sister, Katherine Seymour, beloved nieces and nephews.
Per her request, there will be no public service for Sara. A memorial service will be named at a later date.
Thank you to Mobile Funeral Home and Crematory for treating our loved one with such dignity.
