Shirley Denise Gafford

Shirley Denise Gafford, a resident of Eight Mile, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. She was 68 years old.

Shirley loved music. She enjoyed caring for others, cooking meals for family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Williamson; father, Willie Williamson; brother, Phillip Williamson; and sister, Donna Williamson.

Those left to cherish her memory include her one and only daughter, Gina (Walter) Johnston; three grandkids, Sabrina Johnston, Walter “Bubba” (Celeste) Johnston, and Matthew Johnston; three sisters, Diane Harbin, Angie Williamson, and Sylvia (Johnny) Chavers; five great grandchildren, Adalyn Chestang, Madalyn Chestang, Brendon Chestang, River Johnston, Willow Johnston, and one on the way.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the 11:30am funeral service Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at The Vision Church. Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm, at Pineview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Walter V. Johnston, Walter (Bubba) Johnston, Matthew Johnston, Brian Chavers, and Lane Chavers.
