Sonya Kristina Gorski, a resident of Theodore, Alabama, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022. She was 57 years old.
Sonya is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Gorski and her mother and father, Josephine and John Ray.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Hanna Nicole Parker and Megan Allison Weaver; grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Weaver, Annabelle Grace Weaver, and Isaac Eli Weaver; brother, Bryan Dale (Amy) Ray; good friends, Angela and Mike Moore; and many other relatives and friends.
Sonya enjoyed nature and feeding the squirrels and watching the red birds. One of her favorite movies was finding Nemo and she loved Dory. Sonya loved reading her bible, listening to old Christian hymns, and watching the church channel. She loved to go to Goodwill and the Dollar Tree. When she dressed up, she would always do her hair and makeup. Sonya liked to wear dresses and pantsuits, but most of the time she wore tank tops, t-shirts and leggings. She loved to be in her pajamas with her heating blanket and drinking cokes. Sonya loved to cut hair and enjoyed creating her own unique style at times. She loved fresh cups of coffee in the morning and throughout the day to keep her energetic, and she liked hot tea and hot cocoa on cold winter nights. Sonya loved to cook Thanksgiving dinner. At Christmas time, she would always set out milk and cookies, listen to classic Christmas songs and decorate her tree.
Sonya was a strong warrior who endured a lot in her life. She was a witness to many for the wonderful works of God in her life.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Spring Hill Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jim Kinder officiating.
