Teresa "Sita" Batucan Ochea Ritter, 78, of Biloxi, MS, died peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in Mobile, AL.
Teresa was born November 04, 1945 to Juanito and Matilde Ochea in Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. The eldest of twelve siblings, she loved being married to the love of her life whom she met at a soccer field at Clark Air Force Base Philippines. She loved having her family around and especially liked cooking for all of them as well as for friends. Her favorite pastimes were visiting the casinos, working in the garden and taking care of her grandkids. She was blunt to a fault, but not in a malicious way, and loved to tell stories that didn't seem plausible but actually were. She was sometimes silly, always generous with her time and talents, imaginative, kind, free-spirited, a perpetual optimist and very superstitious about an odd number of things. She loved to laugh and make others laugh and she was loved by everyone who met her. She will forever be remembered for her infectious smile and laughter and the love of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary "Tex" Ritter, her parents, Juanito and Matilde Ochea, siblings, Florencio Ochea, Josefina Ochea Henares, Agustin Ochea, Cresente Ochea and Aniceto Ochea, and her in-laws, Chester "Terry" Ritter, Timothy Ritter, Mary Lou and Claude Streets, Emogene Ritter and Chester K. Ritter.
She is survived by her children, Allan(Stephanie) Ritter, Jonathan "Sumo" Ritter, Alvin Ritter and Elizabeth(Adam) Blanchard, her grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Addison Ritter, Abbi Ritter and Emily, Nathan, and Ava Blanchard, her siblings, Magdalino Ochea, Rodulfo Ochea, Cecilia(Glicerio) Ybanez, Leonardo Ochea, Restituto Ochea and Eduardo Ochea, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in America and the Philippines.
She will be laid to rest at the National VA Cemetery in Biloxi, MS, on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 2:30 p.m.
