Thomas G. Carwie Obituary

Thomas G. "Tom" Carwie, a native of New Orleans and a life long resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, September 9, 2021, surrounded by his family and friends. He was owner of Carwie Properties. Tom was an active  member of Two Mystic Societies and Alumnus of Tau Kappa Epsilon Nu Mu Chapter at the University of South Alabama  He was an avid boat enthusiast and spent many enjoyable times on the water. Tom was very social and loved hosting a gathering. He was very proud supporter of the Auburn Tigers and enjoyed gamedays and after party at Toomers Corner. In recent years, Tom spent his free time traveling around the world or camping with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George "Bubba" and Alice Carwie. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Davenna; his girls, Katie and Abbie; their mother, Lisa Carwie; two step sons, Trenton and Andrew Pitt; his brother, David Carwie; one nephew, David Carwie Jr.;  his half brothers, Tim and Paul Powell; long time friend, Judy Sellers; and numerous cousins, relatives, and friends. Graveside Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:30am in Magnolia Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Kennedy-Cox House, 607 Government Street.
