Troy Eugene Finlay, age 69, passed away suddenly in his home on Thursday, April 10, 2025 after a cancer diagnosis in January of this year. Troy was loved by so many people, and it was evident by the way people ministered to us these last three months.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Etheridge Gayron Finlay and Della Mae Malone Finlay, his sister, Gladies Patricia Finlay Kountz and his brother, Gayron JR Finlay. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Miller Finlay, his two children Jessica (Eric) Smith and Tray (Sheryl) Finlay; his grandchildren Kayleigh (Preston) Webb, Tanner Finlay (Mallory Atchison), Hunter Smith (Breleigh Rawlins), Jake Finlay, Breann Finlay, Gunner Finlay, Colton Finlay, Quinten Finlay and his first great granddaughter, Lottie Kate Webb to be born in July. He is also survived by his sister, Joy Rebecca Williams, sister-in-law, Cheryl (Gary) Garrett, brother-in-law, Guy (Carmen) Miller, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends.
The most important thing that Troy wanted everyone to know about him was the fact that on August 2, 1998, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and he was forever changed. He never grew tired of telling people about the change that Jesus made in his life…bringing him from a life of addiction and sin to a life of hope, peace, freedom and security as a child of God. Today he would want you to know his Jesus and be confident that when you pass this same way, you too can have the assurance of knowing that you will spend eternity in heaven!
