Mr. Walter Lee Kyles, Sr. was born to the union of Mr. Joe and Mrs. Autherine Johnson Kyles on April 9, 1940 in Mobile, Alabama. Walter was a member of First United Methodist Church in Theodore, Alabama. He began his working career as a laborer at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS. He worked in New Orleans, LA. He also worked driving Yellow Cabs in Mobile. He later started his own business, Kyles Economy Nursery. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mattie (Clinton) Jackson, Rennie (Oscar) Williams, and Allie Mae (Charlie Woodard; six brothers, Joe Kyles, Jr., Eddie (Pat) Kyles, Jimmie (Deloris) McCants, Rev. George Kyles, Rev. Charles (Zellerine) Kyles, and Oscar Kyles. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving former wife, Betty Kyles; five daughters, Mary (Charles) Campbell, Darleen Kyles, Yolanda (Melvin) McClain, Debra Kyles, and Nicole Kyles McCain; son, Walter (Chandra) Kyles, Jr.; stepson, Joseph (Nina) Kyles; devoted sister, Nancy Kyles Blackmon; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Creola Kyles; devoted great nieces, Tiffinie Chase and Melissa (Gerald) Johnson; devoted great nephew, Brian Horn; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other relatives and friends.Online condolences may be given at www.mobilefhc.com.
